Office Manager, Marge Coker and Yvette Taylor, Enrollment/Admission Counselor represented CUBM at the Red Ribbon Gala on December 1 T the Omni William Penn Hotel in Pittsburgh. This was the 7th annual fundraising event to support Educating Teens about HIV/Aids, Inc. This organization was founded by Kezia L. Ellison, MAWTH. Her daughter, Albertha Graham-Ellison, Ph.D. is the project director.
The mission of Educating Teens about HIV/Aids, Inc. is to promote and advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention education for pre-teens, teens, and young adults through collaboration with communities, schools, and houses of worship. ETAH is committed to a comprehensive approach that addresses all facets of the youth experience. They include the following.
A comprehensive approach that addresses:
• Self esteem
• Peer pressure
• Alcohol
• Drug use
• Abusive relationships
Other issues that affect youth:
• Considers social and cultural experiences
• Provides prevention education
• Empowers youth to make informed about their health
• Empowers youth to protect themselves
